A pure Kanchipuram (or Kanjivaram) silk saree is a premium handloom product from Tamil Nadu, India, recognised for its rich mulberry silk, heavy zari work, and exceptional durability. These sarees are prized for being heirlooms that can last for generations. 

Care Instructions

  • Dry Clean Only: To maintain the sheen of the zari and the silk.
  • Storage: Store in a dry place, wrapped in muslin or cotton cloth to prevent moisture damage.
  • Maintenance: Refold every 3–4 months to prevent breaking of zari lines.

  • Fabric: 100% Pure Mulberry Silk sourced mainly from Tamil Nadu.
  • Zari: Pure zari made of silver wire dipped in 24k gold, ensuring the shine does not tarnish easily.
  • Weaving Method: Handwoven using the Korvai technique, where the border, body, and pallu are woven separately and then joined together.
  • Weight: Substantial, typically weighing between 500g and 1.5kg (sometimes up to 2kg) due to the high silk density and heavy zari.

Returns & Exchange Policy

Every Majos saree is meticulously handcrafted and carefully inspected before shipping. However, in the rare event of any issue, we have a clear return and exchange process for our customers.

Slight irregularities are part of the handloom process and are not considered defects. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.

1. Colour & Product Representation

  • Product photos are taken in neutral light to represent colours as accurately as possible.
  • Minor variations may occur due to screen settings, blended hues, or different thread lots.
  • Such differences are not grounds for return or exchange.
  • If you are unsure about a colour, we encourage you to request a video consultation before ordering.

2. Order Cancellations

  • Orders cannot be cancelled once placed, as dispatch begins immediately.
  • For exceptional cases, email majossilks@gmail.com within 24 hours of placing your order.

3. Returns & Exchanges

  • Returns or exchanges are accepted only at Majos’ discretion and only in cases of genuine manufacturing defects or incorrect items. Returns excludes products on sale category.
  • Notify us within 24 hours of delivery at majossilks@gmail.com, attaching:

    An unboxing video (mandatory)

    Clear photographs of the defect or incorrect item

  • Our Quality Control team will review and confirm eligibility. This process might take up to 3 working days.
  • Once approved, we will provide the return address. Customers must arrange and pay for return shipping unless the product is defective.

4. Conditions for Eligibility

Returned sarees must be:

  • Unused, unwashed, and unaltered (no blouse stitching, fall/pico, tasselling, or other customisation)
  • In original packaging with all labels, tags intact.
  • The original fold must be intact.
  • Shipped back within the timeline specified by our team.

5. Non-Returnable / Non-Refundable Situations

  • Incorrect or outdated shipping address, including PO boxes
  • Recipient refusal or three failed delivery attempts
  • Dislike of colour, design, or weave
  • Customised orders (blouse stitching, fall/pico, tassels, etc.)
  • Inherent handloom characteristics, including:
    • Knots, bumps, or slubs in the yarn
    • Slightly uneven threads or gaps in motifs
    • Missing Lines and Minute Gaps: Small gaps in and around motifs or within the weave of the body or pallu are characteristics of handloom weaving.
    • Tiny selvage holes from loom latching
    • Overlaps or minor dye variations, including zari “bleed” effects

These features are part of authentic handloom weaving and not defects.

6. Actual Defects Eligible for Return

  • Visible tears or fabric damage
  • Missing blouse piece
  • Saree length significantly different from website specifications

7. Refunds

  • After we receive and inspect the returned product, refunds are processed to the original payment method within 15 working/business days.
  • Please allow additional time for your bank or card provider to credit the amount.
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.

8. International Orders

  • International returns/exchanges are at Majos’ discretion and must follow the same 24-hour notification and unboxing-video requirement. Please check International Shipping Policy for more details.
  • Customers are responsible for all shipping costs, customs duties, taxes, and import fees for both the original and return shipments.
  • Refunds may take longer (up to 15 working/business days) and can vary slightly due to currency exchange rates and bank transaction fees.

Shipping Coverage

We deliver across India and to most international destinations served by trusted courier partners. Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address—including ZIP/Postal Code/Eircode and a valid mobile and landline phone number—to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.

Shipping Charges

  • Domestic: Shipping charges are calculated based on order weight and delivery distance.
    • Saree orders totalling ₹5,000 or more qualify for free domestic shipping.
  • International: Rates are dynamic and vary by weight, destination, and carrier. Ordering multiple products may reduce the per-item shipping cost.

Customs & Duties (International Orders)

International shipments are handled by reliable carriers to facilitate customs clearance and delivery to your doorstep. Import duties, taxes, or customs charges—if applicable in your country—are the customer’s responsibility and must be paid directly upon delivery.

Majos do not take any responsibility for customs charges, taxes applied in your receiving country.

Note: We do not ship Silver products internationally due to security and regulatory restrictions.

Order Processing & Tracking

Once your order is processed and dispatched, you will receive an email with tracking details. You can also track your shipment through Shopify. Orders are shipped in full once all items are ready.

Estimated Delivery Times

  • Domestic: Typically delivered within 3–7 business days after dispatch, depending on destination.
  • International: Typically delivered within 7–21 business days after dispatch, depending on destination and customs clearance.

While we strive to meet these timelines, Majos cannot be held responsible for delays beyond our control (such as weather events, customs procedures, or courier disruptions).

Returns & Shipping Back

  • If there is no fault on our part, all return shipping costs (including duties and taxes) are the customer’s responsibility.
  • The sender is responsible for the shipment until it reaches us.
